Description

The Browder Ridge trail climbs through a lush forest understory through several wildflower-filled meadows to a terrific viewpoint of Mount Jefferson, Three-Fingered Jack, Mount Washington, and the Three Sisters. If you continue on to the summit, you will pass through more meadows and be treated to even better views of the Cascades, especially the Three Sisters.

Directions

Take Highway 20 east of Sweet Home (or west of Sisters). Approximately 5 miles east of Tombstone Pass (or 2.7 miles west of the junction with Highway 126), turn south onto Hackleman Creek Road, which is initially paved but turns to gravel immediately after crossing the creek. Follow this road for 1.7 miles, then veer right onto Road 1598. (Watch your odometer, because the signpost for this road is easy to miss.) Proceed on Road 1598 for another 2.8 miles to the Gate Creek Trailhead on the right side of the road. There is a parking area on the left side of the road slightly uphill from the trailhead. There are no facilities at this location.
